Gratitude on Remembrance Day

On Wednesday, November 11, 2020 between 10:40-11:05 am, the College will hold a short ceremony that will be broadcast for our community. The ceremony will be broadcast by the teachers in each of the 3rd period classes to allow all students to participate. Students who are on campus are required to be in formal uniform.

Linked to the values of the College, the importance of such a ceremony honoring our veterans and their sacrifices – especially on this 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War – is amplified in the current context of the pandemic.

The days leading up to Remembrance Day are special opportunities to educate and as such, Secondary 4 students are exploring the pages of the @VeteransENG_CA Canada Remember Times newspaper in history class.

All students will be writing messages of gratitude in poppies that will decorate the walls of the school “Poppy Love” activity.

On Wednesday, the WIC community will be having a virtual all-school assembly to commemorate the occasion. More information will be sent directly to families the week of November 9th.
