2nd Place in Kiosk Category at the 17th Annual CRC Robotics Competition – February 2018

Select WIC students recently attended the 17th Annual  CRC Robotics Competition. It was three days of exciting cooperative competition that took place from February 1 to 3, at Laval Senior Academy. This yearly event is an exciting multidisciplinary competition that bridges robotics, languages, arts and multimedia! High school and Cégep students called on their imagination to create and build the best working robot in this year’s football-inspired game called Converto 2018.
WIC’s robot was named Layla, inspired by Eric Clapton. The robot picked up footballs and launched them at a V-shaped target.
Our students won second prize in the kiosk category. the best they have placed in 7 years. They were also finalists in the video category and earned the never give up/lache pas la patate trophy! Special accolade and mention were also attributed to Mr. Al-Hilli for his guidance and leadership leading up to the event.
