Each month WIC’s athletic coaches nominate one player from each of their teams for the Athlete of the Month Award. The final decision is based on each athlete’s contribution to their team’s success.
Erika I. has been the most valuable player on the Juvenile Girls Soccer team this month. She has scored 6 goals in 3 games, including a hat trick in the first game and the winning goal in the third game. She is a big part of the reason why the team is 3-0. She also demonstrates quiet leadership both on the field by her tireless work ethic and also on the bench, encouraging her team.
Michael S. is the defensive captain of this year’s Juvenile Boys Football team (2-1). He is a vocal leader who also leads by example. In three games this season he has 5 interceptions one of which he ran back 60 yards for a touchdown.
Emma P. has been a great leader on the Bantam Girls Soccer team this year. She has excelled on the defensive side of the ball, and has been an excellent play maker on the offensive end. Her play has contributed greatly to the team’s – Goals for (11) and goals against (2).
Ryan F.
New to Volleyball this year, Ryan has made huge strides in learning the game and applying what he’s learned in practice to game situations. He will be a force to reckoned with this season in Volleyball.
