Thanks to a generous donation from the Rita and Victor Bertrand Foundation, this new bursary program will support high-achieving students who could not otherwise afford to attend West Island College. With five West Island College alumni in the family, the Bertrand family was inspired to give others the opportunity to benefit from the WIC experience.

The Rita and Victor Bertrand Foundation has committed to donating $100,000 in order to kick-start the program and offer four $5,000 annual bursaries to deserving students for the duration of their WIC education. Mrs. Rita and Mr. Victor Bertrand hope to inspire all WIC alumni to contribute to build this bursary program that will impact lives for generations to come.

“Over the years, we have helped families with small amounts of financial support. The addition of a 5-year bursary program at WIC means that many excellent candidates will be able to apply and hopefully attend WIC.”   -Michel Lafrance, Headmaster

A parent who received financial aid in the past writes:

“My child’s ability to achieve and motivation to succeed are all owed to the teachers and structured, caring environment at WIC, which we were able to benefit from through the financial support that we received… It was life changing for us.”

Every alumnus/alumna who donates to The Rita & Victor Bertrand Foundation Inspiring Generations Bursary will share the vision of establishing a legacy and investing in a crucial part of the school’s future.

Please join us and support the The Rita & Victor Bertrand Foundation Inspiring Generations Bursary today! To make a donation to this important alumni initiative, DONATE NOW or contact Melanie Richter at [email protected].
