The Sports Leadership secondary 5 option course students and the WIC Student Leadership team were proud to launch their first all school Spirit Day on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. This new activity, spearheaded by Mr. Fequet was all about boosting school spirit before the arrival of cold weather.
“We are planning to run 8 stations where the grades are split into their Houses and can earn house championship points. It will also be a day to allow everyone to wear their House T-shirts. We thought that some fresh air before the end of term would help relieve some stress for all of us”, said Mr. Fequet.
The variety of outdoor activities included handball, frisbee, relay race and flag tag. The Grade 7 and 8 classes participated in the activities from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and the seniors started at 12:45 p.m. and wrapped it up at 2:00 p.m. That meant no classes for all juniors (period 3) and all seniors (period 6). A fun break for all in the name of school spirit!
Thank you to Mr. Fequet for initiating this event and all the teachers that volunteered to help as well.
Other upcoming activities will include a free dress day for Halloween with a costume contest in which the top three students from the juniors and the seniors will earn house points, and a sports jersey day on Tuesday, November 5th.
