During her annual presentation, guest speaker and former president of our WIC board, Mrs. Rae Gropper (also grandmother of several WIC students and mother of two alumni), shared her family’s personal story and ties to the Holocaust in Poland. Mrs. Gropper spoke to Secondary IV students who have recently read Night by Elie Wiesel, a deeply poignant autobiographical narrative of survival in the Nazi death camps. She recounted her own family’s experiences and reminded the students why the world must work to prevent such atrocities from ever happening again.
