Enhancing the Learning Environment at WIC

On Thursday, September 15th, the WIC Foundation hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the 5 Junior Hall classroom renovations. This was the first phase of many for the WIC Foundation’s Inspire Campaign. Michel Lafrance, Headmaster of West Island College, opened the evening with remarks and thanked all of the wonderful supporters of the Inspire Campaign.

“The impact that these renovations have made on the entire school community have been tremendous. With better sound insulation and natural light these newly renovated classrooms are now warm and inviting spaces. Students and teachers are excited and happy to teach and learn in these ideal learning environments”, said Mr. Lafrance.

There were two surprises for the guests. Mr. Lafrance announced the launch of The Rita and Victor Bertrand Foundation Inspiring Generations Bursary and that the focus of the summer 2017 renovation project would be the Courtyard Project (photo below).
