Future Engineers and Innovators in the Making at CRC Robotics Competition – February 2019

WIC’s Robotics Club competed for three days (February 21, 22 and 23) with and against most of the private and public English and French high schools and cégeps, including Rosemount Technology Centre and Centennial Regional High School in the Greenfield Park borough of Longueuil. The categories of competition were robot performance and ranking, kiosk design and production, website and video (though we did not participate in the latter category). WIC’s robot team worked tirelessly all three days and until 11:30 p.m. on Friday, February 22, competing and troubleshooting. Although they did not make it to the finals, the robot this year had by far the best robot design and construction out of all of the past years of the robotics club at WIC. In the end, WIC won second place for kiosk design and production, beating out Dawson, Vanier and John Abbott College in their division:

1st place: Royal West Academy

2nd place: West Island College

3rd place: Collège Montmorency

Congratulations to all the participants and volunteers. Special mention is in order for Mr. Al Hilli for his leadership and mentorship leading up to and throughout the CRC event.
