The Next Generation of Future Scientists and Inventors at Expo Science – February 9, 2017

Spearheaded by science teacher Moustafa Al-Hilli,  WIC’s Annual Expo Science Fair was held on February 9th, 2017.  Students applied active learning, came up with creative ideas and displayed inventions that could make a difference in the world around them. The fair was clearly a peek into the next generation of future scientists, inventors, business owners, managers and innovators.  At the heart of it all, this was an excellent opportunity for hands on learning to help prepare our students for life! As selected by the Judging Committee, gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded to the best entries in each grade division. Gold medals went to the following science projects: Toxic Power Plant (Sec. 2) and Lending a Helping Hand (Sec. 3). Silver medals were awarded to Sauver du temps couper du bois and Radiowave Radiation (Sec 2) as well as L’électricité économique and STOMPS (Sec 3).  Bronze went to Les bons rebonds and L’ascenceur (Sec 2) as well as Not a drop to drink and Meds 2 Go (Sec 3).  People’s Choice Award was awarded to Les Bananes: de Vert à Jaune (Sec 2) and Pompier Personnel (Sec 3).  All the winners of the gold, silver and bronze medals will be participating at the Hydro-Quebec sponsored Montreal Regional Science Fair at Concordia University from March 26th to the 28th.
