WIC’s 18th Annual Walkathon to Benefit JDRF – October 18, 2018

All for a good cause, students, teachers and staff were happy to get a break from school on Thursday, October 18, 2018, to raise awareness at WIC’s 18th annual 5 km walk to benefit JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).

A cheque was presented to Jessica Carter and Cindy Merritt from JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).

The final total from our walkathon, which took place on October 18th, was a total of $42,035 this year! That brings our dollars raised over 18 years to $451,081.

Much appreciation goes out to all teachers and faculty for their inspiration, encouragement and leadership for this year’s JDRF Walkathon. Also, special mention to our parent volunteers, Mrs. Bloom, Mrs. Byrne, Mrs. Ghanem, Mrs. Levy,   Mrs. Sarin, Mrs. Sonenberg and Mrs. Costa who helped out with the registration. Finally, a big thank you to the entire  WIC community who worked hard to raise funds for this great cause.  Donations will continue to be accepted at reception and online until December. We will keep you posted on the funds raised in the upcoming weeks.
