This June, West Island College proudly celebrated a historic milestone: the graduation of the Class of 2025 – our largest cohort to date, with 99 exceptional students crossing the stage. The convocation ceremony, held at Le Crystal, was filled with pride, emotion, and reflection as our community came together to honour this remarkable group of graduates.

Adding to the evening’s significance was a powerful and heartfelt commencement speech by WIC’s founder, Terry Davies. With wisdom and warmth, he spoke about the importance of taking risks, embracing new challenges, and being open to life’s unexpected paths – messages that resonated deeply with students and families alike.
A few days later, the class traded gowns for glamour as they gathered once more to celebrate their prom at Golf Saint-Raphaël. It was an evening of laughter, friendship, and memories – the perfect send-off for a class that has left its mark on WIC.
While every graduating year is special, the Class of 2025 holds a unique place in our history – not just for its size, but for its legacy. WIC has always cherished the generations of families who return to the school they once called home, with their photos proudly displayed along the main hallway. Next year, we will have 47 legacy students (children of alums) at the school, continuing a tradition that binds past, present, and future in one continuous expedition.
This year, fourteen alums had children graduating, making the celebration all the more meaningful. Five of those alums were from the Class of 1993 – a group of classmates who are now parents, watching their own children graduate alongside each other.
Doug Liberman ’93, a WIC Board Member and proud parent, had the honour of presenting his daughter, Alexandra, with her diploma. “When I first became a board member, I knew I would get to hand her that diploma, and I knew it would be special,” Doug said. “But it was so much more special than I could have imagined. It’s such a wonderful feeling.”
Jonathon Calderone, also a Class of ’93 alum, shared the experience of watching his son, Jaxon – one of this year’s Head Prefects and Valedictorian – graduate. “It definitely feels like a full-circle moment. To see our kids grow up together the way we did – it’s really special.”
For Nadia Molluso ’93, the day was especially poignant. Her son, Luca, joined the ranks of WIC alums this year, continuing a proud family connection. Nadia’s mother, Vincenza Caldareri, was a beloved WIC art teacher for over 20 years who passed away in 2012. “WIC holds a special place in my family’s heart and always will. I’m incredibly proud to be an alum—and now, with my son also an alum, it feels like we’re part of a three-generation legacy.”
Other alums and their children who celebrated this year include Joel Goldenberg ’89 and his daughter Melanie, Kimberly Perra ’89 and her daughter Kiandra, Glen Wight ’90 and his daughter Makayla (Head Prefect), Melanie Richter ’90 and her son Matthew, Ian Lutterman ’92 and his daughter Emily, Ken Fischer ’93 and his daughter Emily, Donna Morris ’93 and her son Tristan, Kelly Pike ’94 and her son Thomas, and Gabrielle Majnemer-Etcovitch ’96 and her son Ryder.
At WIC, we often say, “Once a Voyageur, Always a Voyageur.” Our legacy families remind us of the power of that statement in the lasting connections they’ve built with each other and with the wider WIC community.
As the Class of 2025 now sets off on its next great adventure, we are proud to welcome them into the lifelong Voyageur community. You’ve travelled far. You’ve grown together. And your path is just beginning. Bon voyage, Class of 2025. You will always have a home at WIC.
